Homemade Christmas

It has been forever since I have posted anything on our blog so I thought I better do a quick update. The kids have the new school year well underway so we are busy with their activities. Danny has been working for the Payette school district keeping their computers up and running and I started working for the Fruitland school district in the lunchrooms. I am a subsitute in the lunchrooms.

We had a fun Halloween and are looking forward to Thanksgiving next week and Christmas right around the corner. With my family we do all homemade gifts. This means that the kids draw names and make a gift for $2-$3 and all the adults draw names and we can spend a little bit more. I have started some of the gifts and thought I would post them. I found some cute capes on etsy.com and thought they would be fun for the little boys in our family. They are reversible so they can be two different super heros. This cape is one that I used a small left over piece of fabric for my babies cape. I normally would have done different colors, but didn't want to waste this piece. I hope superman, batman, bat girl, Mr. Incredible, Flash, Mr. Fantastic, Hulk, Robin & Spiderman. I hope the boys like them. For the little girls Kaylee and I made some Black Apple Dolls. I found the idea on homemadebyjill.blogspot.com , she saw them on Martha Stewart. I am LOVING these little dolls. Kaylee made the pink one for Lydia (she did all the machine sewing, turning and stuffing). She didn't like doing the hand stitching because "it took too long" so I did most of the hand stitching. She has a rattle in her doll for Baby Lydia.

I'm glad to have some of the homemade projects done, but still have a way to go. Wish me luck....

I would have loved one of those capes when I was little. Okay, to be honest, I would still love one of those capes now.
